Moon & Star over Trusk lough...and a Painting! was created by Donegal Skies
It’s been ages since I took any images. My camera has been away for repair for the last 6 weeks. I took these on Friday 08 April 2011 at the scenic Trusk Lough, Ballybofey, Co. Donegal, about 10miles from my home in rural Ireland. While this imaging session was only a quick outing it was a very special night under the stars for me. I normally head off in to the darkness with only my camera for company. However, on Friday afternoon I shared my plans for imaging that night with my girlfriend, sister and brother-in-law and much to my amazement they all expressed an interest in joining me. So shortly after Sunset we all hopped in the car and headed for the picturesque setting. Upon arrival, the winter constellations were dipping below the western horizon on a beautiful spring night. I got out my camera and got snapping while the others enjoyed a cup of tea while gasping at the moonlite visa. The beauty of the star-filled sky and Moonlite landscape was intensified by the sound of the waves lapping up on to the lake side while the wild ducks splashed, played and quacked the night away!

Oh and I might as well shear this, it’s not up to much but I enjoyed doing. Kinda like a modern, poor, take on Starrynight.

Thanks for looking and clear skies,

Super shots there Brendan, I love those scenics too! I have a lake beside my back garden and to hear the wildlife on a spring oe summer night is just fantastic. I'm glad you were not alone to see and live the moment.
