After one look at this planet any visitor from outer space would say; "I WANT TO SEE THE MANAGER".

Very impressive work Michael. Was there any additional tweaking done to the final colour image or is this more or less the colour one could see through a Ha filter?
Looks like the Irish weather has played fair of late for Solar Imagers.
Best wishes and clear skies

Mike,
Ah, where do I start with colour...It's such a subjective thing.
The colour I have applied to the images is close to what I see through the Coronado filter.
Other filters though, such as Solarscope and Daystar produce an image that appears closer to the red than the yellow.
The camera records in mono and so the raw image in B/W.
As you know, the bandpass of the filter is very narrow and in the red part of the spectrum. Therefore, colour cameras are of limited use with such filters.
As for the weather, it has been nice and sunny alright.
Unfortunately, it has also been quite hazy and seeing has been very poor.
So, whilst solar imagers can get images at the mo, it's not as easy as we would like.
Once the seeing improves, I'll have more images using the barlow lens and zooming in on the detail.

Makes a lot of sense alright Michael.
Can't wait to see some close up images of the Sun, should be very interesting.
Clear skies
