LCD monitors for processing was created by johnomahony
Does ayone have experience with using LCD monitors (not laptop) for processing? I might spend a few hundred bucks on a 21 inch display. Any particular brands that are recommended?. CRT monitors are almost impossible to get these days.
I picked up a new Toshiba laptop a few weeks ago to replace my old Compaq which is 5 years old and on its last legs. I just tested it with Registax and deep sky stacker and it is very fast. There is some serious difference in speed between moving from a Centrino duo to a core i5 processor. I stacked 16 subs in a few minutes. Normally this would take 20 -30 minutes and the AVIs took about 1-2 minutes with 1500 frames. Using 32 bit windows 7 too.

Hi John,

Now picking a good monitor is just as important as your telescope/CCD/mount. This is the monitor I use and recommend for color processing.

Hope this helps you out.

Thanks Carl. I'll look into this one. Not too expensive either.
