Registax 6 Mpg or AVI? was created by Frank Ryan
Not knowing a huge amount about the tech side of video file types,
is it better to shoot AVI or MPG?
Registax 6 can process MPG and I did a very quick
process and it seemed ok.
Whats your opinion?

The DMK cameras record in AVI.
However, it seems there are different types of AVI out there.
Specifically, it records in Y800 lossless format.
Do you know if the format you are recording in is compressed or lossless?
Michael.

i would image avi would be better as mpg employs compression. any form of compression would introduce artifacts into an image. this would apply to use jpgs also. if you want to get the best quality it would be best to avoid this formats for raw data.
