Hi all, just dropped in for a quick look and see whats happening in the wonderful world of modern astronomy:-)
has anyone got a look at the planet jupiter yet? i got some great views in the early hours of wednesday last the 17th. the SEB is full back on show! i took some RGB avi's with the dmk 21 mono camera, 2x barlow, C9.25 SCT between 04.33 - 04.35BST. dawn was just starting to break over the ox mountains here in north mayo at that time. anyways the final image after twiks and twiks and twiks .,....is as good as i think i can get it europa is to the upper left and callisto is to the lower right in its near orbit. its great to see jupiter so high now! will be looking forward to a good autumns observations ahead!!!
clear skies to you's all,
James.

fantstic images from lough talt! me and my partner do enjoy spending a while their from time to time when the weather is good! it's only a few miles from my home. regarding my jupiter image, i noticed after i loaded the image and posted it that it was downsized alot from the orignal, its much bigger originally. oh well, at least you all can see it:-) getting back about lough talt i might just pop up their some night and see what its like!
