Skywatcher synguider any good? was created by Nerro
Maybe anyone has it?would like to hear any feed back on its performance,user friendliness etc.as it is cheapest stand alone guider woundering if price reflects its abilities....thanks.

its a long thread but well worth reading.the major down side for it is that it doesn't work with eq3 mounts, but no one had any problems on Neq6 ones.

Apparently there is going to be a new version coming out soon.With the screen on the key pad and some other updates and a bit more....pricy i wounder by how much.

I have one and it works quite well although I think
you have to get used to it. The screen as others
have said is very small and can get into ackward
angles to view and you have no idea unless your
watching it if it loses a star . Alot of folk
complain about the problems of getting a guide star
because of the screen but I teamed mine up with one of
these :

and that made getting a guide star alot easier.
The only funny thing I've found so far has been the
aggressivness, you have to cut the values to roughly half
what the synuider calculates during the calibration to get it
working ok.
Pretty good unit all the same, hope to get more
use of it soon once I get some clear nights.
