Jupiter animation was created by Frank Ryan
A wee animation of Jupiter with Io starting a transit
casting it's shadow onto the planet near the GRS.

2 things.
Scope was out of collimation
(I just can't nail it down)
& My 3cccd tools capture prog
packed itself in si I had to use Craterlet
which is buggy to say the least.

Anyway,
the images are what they are.

DMK from santa for sure!!

Excellent, I keep forgetting how fast Jupiter rotates. :D

There's a lovely line of trees behind my house that pretty much only allows about 30mins of imaging time at the moment. All set up to see what I can get tonight. :)

I think what happens is the gaps are so long
between clear nights that I forget to either
colimate, charge a battery, update software etc. something.
Getting collimation 100% has to be priority now.
This scope nearly needs it after every time it's transported.
Either that or something else is the issue.

I'm going to sell the Spc900 and get the DMK mono
& filter setup.
The way I look at it is getting the colour cam is going only 90%
of the way.
At the very least with the mono / filter setup
you can be assured your getting the most detail
thats possible.
I'm just bored now of the medocore images the spc yeilds.
Fair enough the scope is a 10" not a C14 so I am
being realistic when it comes to the potential of the shots.
I'm curious also as to what kind of barlow / powermate setup
is best.
