Hi all
After good advice from members I ran some images through Photoshop, posting them here and would appreciate all comments, Thanks again for all your help.Sorry about all the editing but the images look far better on my computer than they do as attachments, no ring around Jupiter, any clues?

Aiden - the Jupiter image is a bit small for me to post any comment of value.
The crater image looks good - a little on the soft side (focus and/or collimation) and perhaps a little dark (but that could be my monitor).
I would iamgine that whatever focus/collimation issues you have, they are reasonably small. There is a downside to that however - fixing it/them might by a bit totuitous. For example, if focus is way off, its easy enough to improve. If its only a little bit off, that last 5% improvement can be elusive. The same goes for collimation.
That said, these comments are solely to assist you in improving - not to be negatively critical. If I had produced images like that in my initial astrophotography forays (which I didn't), I would have been well chuffed - as you should be. Well done and keep them coming.

Those are good shots there Aidan, I'd try brightening the images abit if you can , photoshop would be good for this.
I'd try running the lunar image through registax again, play with the wavelets and try diffeent referance frames, it can take a while but can help.

Thanks Dave
The Moon image was taken a few weeks ago, the seeing was not good and I think I may have over processed it, need to hold back on the processing, just checked the avi and it was not good as far as the Jupiter image goes, I just wonder if the reason for it being blurry is because I brought the scope outside from a warm room and left it for no more than 20 miniutes to cool down because I couldn`t wait to use the it.
Aiden.

That could be it.
Wasn't sure about your question on the lack of a ring around Jupiter?

warm optics are a big nono, I'd keep the scope in a dry unheated shed if possible,On my own Dob, i have a fan for cooling the primary mirror.dmcdona wrote:
