Thank you very much Michael.
That's all I really wanted to know, someone who knew the camera first hand, I check the web but always get conflicting reports about items which is why I joined this forum where people like you can help someone just starting off in amateur astronomy. Thanks again Michael. The dmk21 is going on my list for Christmas, a list may I add which will consist of either one item or no items.
Thanks again

The DMK would definetly be a step above the neximage.
The neximage is more akin to the philips toucam pro.
Good in it's own way, but not as good as the DMK.
One of those things where you get what you pay for.

Yes I've checked the web over the last few days and found that some say the dmk21 is really good and others say, as the chip is the same size as the neximage which I have there is no point getting it and as this forum has helped me before I decided to give it a shot. Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for the replies and my apologies for my impatience. I knew I would need a filter wheel and now I find I need special dichroic filters as well, getting a bit too expensive I am afraid.
Thanks again

I wouldnt worry too much re special filters etc just yet.
If you want to image the planets and cannot afford the filter wheel and fiters or cant be bothered with combining colour channels, just get the colour version of the dmk21. Simplest and cheapest option.

Yeah that's the route I'm going to take, I would be extremely happy with a dmk21, either mono or colour, I can see how someone can become very broke very quickly with this hobby, very easy to get caught up in spending just to marginally improve, human nature I suppose, I'm like a child in a sweet shop when I see all those gadgets.
Thanks again for your help.
