Michael Sidonio recently posted a couple of images in the FLI yahoo user group which I thought were interesting.
Both images were of the Orion Nebula but were taken 27 years apart.
Both were taklen with high-end equipment for their day.
See the difference:

Hi Michael
It`s truly amazing how far imaging has come and in less than three decades, planets and nebula captured with ccd webcams and DSLR cameras today. One of my favorite things to do when there`s little to do, is go to my local library and look through old astronomy books and the images that were expensive at that time to capture because of the kit needed and now can be imaged relativly cheaply.
What`s it going to be like in another thirty years, the mind boggles!
