Hi Piotr,

Yep, Silver Strand is pretty good -- could be a bit windy on the top though. I just observed from the car park. For Barna I usually just went into the village, turned right at the lights and took a left turn before the Golf Club and setup my scope on a layby down that road. The skies are darker in that location and no worries about safety as there's never anybody about.

I'm not sure about the playing fields, but suspect there would still be alot of light pollution from Knocknacarra.

Another question to the people living in the area: does anyone know if in the Galway Camera Shop in the city centre can I buy T-ring and T-adapter for Canon EOS camera?

Hey Piotr,
Unfortunately they didn't have any the last couple of times I tried - I ended up ordering one off eBay. You could give them a call on 091 565678 to check though.
Fahy Foto also sell telescopes from time to time so I'd try them as well - 091 562 283.

It's a pity, cause it looks like it might be a nice weekend, maybe even with clear nights (hope) and delivering from eBay or any other online shop will take about few days...
Anyway, thanks for the quick reply :)
