Moon, Venus and Jupiter. was created by Reggy
The first one is a bit under exposed and the second a bit over, then the tree got in the way.... can't win.
Taken with Nikon D90, 0.5 sec and 1 sec exposure @ iso 200 and f5.6 through Nikkor 55-300mm lens @ 100mm.
Steep learning curve, but thats the fun of it...... : cheer:
This astrophotography is a tough job, standing in the corner of a field I was minding my own business taking this shot looked up to click the remote shuuter and an owl with about a 3 foot wing span flew over about 1 1/2 feet above my head into a tree. Scared the living bejesus out of me.

Thanks Martin, I'm only starting out so was playing around the balance between exposure lenght and ISO to see what changes they make to the images. It'll be a while before I'm near the level of alot of the guys on here but any tips and advice are be gratefully recieved. : cheer:

you immediately notice there are no foreground objects, and these make those pictures a lot nicer. You better took that tree with it..

Nice set of images and very well framed. Yeah it’s a huge learning curve,
but can be fun, a lot of trial and error. Just keep at it, pity you didn’t
capture that Owl would have made a really great image.
Well done
Tony

Hi Reggy, some good attempts there, as the guys have just said, increasing your ISO and exposure time will work well, here's a shot of mine from last night at 6 seconds exposure at ISO 800 F3.5, about 45mins after sunset that will give you an idea of what to expect, the darker obviously the more expoosure time, and you'll get an eye for some foreground things like tree's houses, roads or indeed anything you see fit.
I hope this helps...
Keith.
