M81 and M82
Whirpool galaxy
I thought going to shere with you what i manageded to get at roundwood.I know its not even close to some images posted over here but i feel i am making progress
For some reason couldnt use darks...was fighting with DSS for a couple of days but finally gave up.So each picture contains only 10x3min30s exposures.No autoguiding used.

Excellent Martin, Love the M81/82 shot. You got the framing and focus bang on the money. I notice a little trailing in the M81/82 shot in particular. As this is only in RA and not in DEC it means your polar alignment is good too. So if you can get autoguiding going you will end up with pinsharp stars.
The field looks good and flat and you didn't make the mistake that many do by making the background too black and thus clipping the galaxies. This is all too common and so easily avoided. Congrats on that. Carl better watch out Martin is coming!
