It's a great result! I once had a go from a car park in Ballymena - years ago with a DV camera - didn't get a thing! Did any of the still frames capture any sort of detail on the ISS?

Paul.

That's what I'm in the middle of doing now.

What's the best way to break an avi into separate frames?

I just came across VirtualDub - a free piece of software.
It can break a video into its individuals frames and save tham as PNGs.

The DMK camera can record in uncompressed format (y800) or compressed forwat DV (both are .avi file formats)
Y800 format works fine with the image stacking programs I use, but it itn't recognised by Youtube.

So, for this video clip, I recorded it in DV.
However, unbeknowns to me at the time, it appears to have scaled down the image size from 1280 x 960 to 720 x 480.
So, a great deal of detail has been lost. ;-(

If I get the chance again, I can record in Y800 format, strip the video in VirtualDub anhd then recompile it back into an avi file with Movie Maker.
At least that way, I will keep the image resolution and upload it to Youtube.

Lesson learnt.

VNC will play anything and you can take a PNG out of it at the hit of a button
