NGC-281 The PacMan Nebula In H-Alpha was created by carlobeirnes
Hi all,
Here is an image of NGC 281 The Pac Man Nebula, NGC 281 is a star cluster associated with nebulosity. The young, blue central stars are being formed from the surrounding gas, which emits Ha light after being excited by stellar radiation. The nebulosity of this region is faint and can be best appreciated in long exposure images such as this.
The image was taken through a Williams Optics 110mm scope with an Atik 4meg CCD. Exposures was 8 hours of 5min subs with a 6nm H-Alpha filter. I used the same darks as the veil nebula 50x5 min and flats where taken at 32000 ADU. Processing was done using Images Plus and Photoshop CS3.

Thanks Michael,
It was great getting such a long exposure on this object made for real easy processing. I like this Nebula because there is so much detail in it makes processing a joy. Thanks for the feedback.
Carl.
