Tokina 11-16mm lens was created by johnomahony
Took some shots of the milky way last night at the Ice in Space BBQ at the Pony Club. This is my new wide field lens.
The subs were 20 seconds each at ISO 800 with the 450D on a tripod (no tracking) with the lens wide open at F2.8 and 11mm

This is a semi dark site about an hour from Northern Sydney. Pretty happy with this lens. There is some blurring on the bottom left of the image (uncropped) but I guess this is due to stacking error due to image shift.

Yeah great shots John. I'm definitely getting my scope out tonight (in Dublin). By the time I set it up and cool it down I'll be just in time to see the cloud waltz over in its merry, vindictive dance.

Deep Sky Stacker with a maximum of 5 minutes of total exposure time.
