Great shot Tony, you cought the swirling turbulence to the left of the GRS well, We had a club session also at the same time in the burren and got fab views of Jupiter, I thought the white surround around the GRS was very visually striking.
Did you catch the Io + shadow transit about 1-2 hours afterwards ?

Thanks for your comments Dave,
Started imaging at 9pm and packed it in at 11.30pm. After capturing 6 gigs of avi’s
so missed the transit which started at 1.30, (sorry now) but I was impatient to see what I captured.
Oh well… next time.
If memory serves me right or if I check my files I think it was about this time last
year that we had such a good night.

Wow! That's a super image Tony, with loads of detail. Well processed too, nice colours and not oversharpened. Congrats and thanks for posting.
I did a bit of visual observing the same night and decided to finish with Jupiter. By pure chance, I found Io was just beginning to transit and the seeing was so good that I was able to follow Io and its shadow across the disc for 20 minutes before quitting for the night. It was the first time I ever observed a transit visually a transit visually, and I was delighted.

Thanks Mike,
Yeah the planet was visually stunning. Glad you got to see the transit, I got to see
one myself some time ago but the seeing was not nearly as good.
Sorry now I packed in so early really would have loved to have seen it
and maybe captured it as nights like that are so rare.
