First Jupiter of 2013 was created by johnomahony

After almost a year I have decided to do some planetary imaging again. Compared to my previous attempts I have made some additional improvements to my equipment.

1. William Optics Crayford focuser
2. 2.5X Powermate
3. Howie Glatter Parallizer (I cannot stress how useful this device is-no flexure when you add the powermate to the image train so your image is still centered when you remove the camera or centering eyepiece)
4. "Bushman" 40% DEET extra strength mozzie repellant

This shot is from 1000 frames stacking the best 400. The seeing wasn't great and Jupiter is pretty low in the sky here at the moment so I didnt expect much.

Well done John great image. There is some real detail in the cloud belts you also got some nice detail in the GRS good color balance also. Planetary imaging is not easy at all, a lot of things have to go right in order to get something out of it. Looking forward to seeing more images from you. Clear Skies mate.

Carl.
