Hi folks,

Not been on here in AGES - but I've started to spend more time out under the stars again so I figure it's about time I made a comeback :)

Armed only with my DSLR and an f/1.4 30mm prime lens I decided to have a go at imaging PANSTARRS while it was close to M31. I couldn't see the comet at all with the naked eye, but to my surprise the f/1.4 lens was bright enough to image it quite well. You can see all my images of the comet in Flickr ( www.flickr.com/photos/bbusschots/sets/72157633303584560/detail/ ), but here are my favs:

Bart - great to see you back here - we missed you - a lot!

Lovely images indeed and the trees really put the comet into context and frame it very well. Even better - DSLR images showing how accessible astrophotography is.

Thanks for posting
