Hi all,
Took some more pics of the Mercury/Venus conjunction over the past 2 nights, I wasnt able to get Jupiter on either night, I'm wondering is it now too low to be seen?

The clouds add to this one, looks like theyre bellowing in from the atlantic, cos they are.
and this is from the night before, May31st

alot more haze this night,
Its starting to look like that Jupiter is just too low and faint to be seen and I think we've lost it at this stage..
Also went back and fixed up a pic of comet panstars from March

and one of the Hercules M13 cluster

Never thought to take a dark frame for this one, I'm happy enough all the same given the age of the camera, 10 years old at this stage.
and an old St patrick day pic, meant to post this one 2 months ago

Great pictures, Dave, of Mercury and Venus. I said goodbye to Jupiter on Wednesday night. I won't be observing it again until December. Still we have Saturn and Venus to be getting on with.
On Saturday 1st June, I briefly observed Venus. But for a good 15 minutes, I was delighted to see Mercury in the main telescope. We recently had some serious cutting of trees close to our backyard. As a result, we have a low western horizon, and seeing that Mercury is higher than Venus, it was ideal to have a go observing it. Using 112X, Mercury was magnitude -0.3 and also almost half phase -61% lit. Very nice indeed with only 6.5" wide.
Aubrey.
