Sun seen through bushfires was created by johnomahony
This is what the sun looked like about an hour before sunset today from the backyard. There is quite a bit of smoke coming from the bushfires in the Blue Mountains. We are well away from any danger here but it shows the scale of the problem. The main fires are an hours drive away.

Here is a shot just before sunset. It was blood red. I didn't underexpose enough to capture the true colour but it was spectacular.
