This is my first colour narrowband image. It worked out well for just 3 X 900 sec images using Ha, SII and OIII filters. It was processed with MaximDL using the "Hubble Palette", Red = Sulphur II, Green = Hydrogen Alpha and Blue = Oxygen III. I will add more data when weather permits.
Scope = SW Equinox 120
Camera = SXVR-H16
Guiding camera = SX Lodestar
Mount = Losmandy G11
Location = Glasnevin

Hi John,
That’s a very good image, great detail and processing. I love looking at narrowband images and is something I’d love to try one day, but again I feel that the weather never plays ball especially when it comes to narrowband imaging.
Well done on a great image.
Carl.

Thanks Carl,
I had put it off because I thought it would be more difficult, but it was surprisingly easy to align and combine the images in MaximDL. I intend to do a lot more narrowband in future because of my suburban location. It also means that full moons will no longer stop me imaging faint targets, fingers crossed.

Nice detail, I would recommend following this to get the colour balance right, it's tricky with Narrowband, also never skim on SII data, I just re-done my M42 with more SII data and it made a big difference
bf-astro.com/hubblep.htm
That guide tells you how to set the selective colours in various ranges, very handy
I hope to image rosette again this year too, hopefully in Narrowband, but I have to finish M42 so it might not happen until next year now
What type of filters are you using?
Well done
Simon

Yeah that's a great link Simon, thanks for the steer. I will try to adjust selective colours in PS as described. First though I will try to get more data. I was amazed that 3 X 900sec data produced the image as it is.
I used Astronomik filters.
