Imaging geostationary satellites was created by albertw
One of the people at our table at the COSMOS star party this brought up the topic of long distance radio communications and the use of geostationary satellites to facilitate such communication. The idea of trying to image some of these satellites then came up and we discussed the possibility. So last night I decided to give it a go.
BADR-5, BADR-6 and BADR-7 Arab Communication Satellites
Astra 2A, 2E and 2F
All are about magnitude +11. I've written it up a little more at www.cademuir.eu/blog/2014/04/24/imaging-...ationary-satellites/

Fascinating, I have wondered if it's possible to image these, so now I'm going to have to have a go!

Great stuff Al,
Have you tried tracking iridium satellites ?
Using a goto mount, its something I do regularly enough with a wide field eyepiece, I've often been able to see them pulse in brightness, makes for an interesting view. With a wide enought fov, you would be able to image them.
