While they are 'downsizing' objects why dont they downsize names also?
'large' just dosnt cut the mustard....it should just be,'The Magellanic Cloud'

Now that I'm home, I can clearly see my error! I must calibrate my monitor at work cuz the standard black font appear as dark blue. Hence why I didn't see the link.
At least, that's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it!

If your eyesight is that bad you might have failed to nitice its gloriously clear outside, get yer butt outside and do some astronomy slacker!

It's called "Large" because the one next to it is "Small".
Though they could have used the common sense and abbreviated it to LMC or for the other one SMC.
Both beautiful sights to behold. Under dark skies they look like fluffy blobs of cotton wool. You can spend hours finding stuff in and around them.
When you show them to people for the first time, they just can't believe that they are looking at our companion galaxies. My brother in-law told me bluntly that I was feeding him bulls*#t until he put his eye to the scope.
