The tail of the comet will be through the Pleaides on the 7th though, so it could make a very spectacular image.

The comet is supposed to lie within 4 degrees of The Pleaides on January 7th. Not close enogh for the same field of view with a telescope, but binoculars should get it (though that will make a difficult astrophotographic effort). It will make a great pairing!
The tail of the comet will be through the Pleaides on the 7th though, so it could make a very spectacular image.
