Hi John, Got this alert about 3 days ago, but have'nt had even a chance of observing with the rubbish weather :(
I think it's still about Magnitude 8 at the moment, it is visible from our latitudes but would be low in the South at about 3am this time of year.

Hope to catch it soon, a chart from the AAVSO is here....
