I hope to generate a list of quality websites which may be of use to observers of Variable stars. If anyone has any comments or suggestions of other sites to be included, please, let us know.
Firstly, the Google directory of Variable Star sites. This is a good place to start and leads to a variety of articles on variables as well as web pages and so forth:
directory.google.com/Top/Science/Astrono...Variable_Stars/?il=1
The American Association of Variable Star Observers have an excellent homepage which is a real "must-view":
www.aavso.org/
This is an interesting historical article I found on seds.org:
www.seds.org/~spider/spider/Vars/vars.html
This article has a very extensive list of variables worth watching and comes from the Astronomer magazine:
www.theastronomer.org/variables.html
Hope these are of some use to people. Again suggestions and commenst are welcome, as are comments!

Didnt Eamon Ansbro find the first one in the late 70's early 80's? Some time ago there was a `Nationwide` program featuring Eamon, and showing the original RTE footage of the discovery. Dont know if there were any before or since.

as far as I can remember, Eamon spotted Nova Vulpeculae in 1975 -- but there were many independent discoveries at the same time. Still, that in no way is discrediting the achievement as an independent discovery is still relying on the observer's knowledge of the sky and awareness of something "out of place". (the year could be wrong on the above).
