Nova in Scutum was created by Keith g
There's a new nova in scutum, although not bright, anybody interested can take a look. A chart will be available soon.
Keith..
From VSNET-ALERT:
Akira Takao reported that he has found a possible
nova in Scutum. The object was present on CCD image(s)
taken last night. The object was reported to be
at mag 10.3 (CCD unfiltered).
The location of the object is 18h 32m.1, -06o 43'.6
(J2000.0).
The report is under examination at the CBAT.
The presence of the new object is confirmed on the
most recent ASAS-3 image, which was not apparently
detected automatically.
Congratulations to Takao-san!

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

It was visually confirmed at magnitude 11.8 at 6 o'clock this morning from the states, so in reality, this is not a good one to observe, maybe it will hit mag.9 if it's on the rise, or maybe it's fading already, and so a fast nova.
Just worthy of note really.
Leith..
