Hey there.

Couldn't spend too much time out last night, typical, the best night in ages and I'm limited for time. My list for Canis Minor is short and it's there I ventured.

STF 1082: Both white in colour, at 8.0 and 8.5 mag and a sep. of 19 these were easily spotted at 48X. They sit in a busy field with nice concentrations of stars.
STF 1095: Again white in colour, using 103X this pair were some of the faintest stars in the field at 8.5 and 9.0 mag. A sep. of 10 ensured an easy split.
Eta Canis Minoris: There is a 6 mag. difference between the 5.5 mag. primary and the secondary. They are quite close at 4.0 and required pushing the scope to much higher magnifications. 126X split them, but it was difficult. There is a nice scattering of stars to the west that looks like a loose cluster.
STF 1073: Yet again a white pair at mag 8.0 and 10.0 with a sep. of 9. 103X showed a nice view of the surrounding field where there is a kite shaped asterism to the west.
STF 1099: You guessed it, a white pair. A close pair of 8.5 and 9.0 mag. stars easily split at 103X
STF 1103: There's no need to guess the colour. The same sep. as STF 1099, but with a 1.5 mag difference between the pair it was marginally more difficult. They sit in a nice little collection of stars, again looking like a loose OC.
STF 1114: A yellow primary with a white secondary. Close in magnitude at 8.5 and 9.0 and a sep. of 6.5. 103X split the pair with ease.
STF 1137: Yellow and white again. Close at 2.9 sep. A replica of the main body of Lyra sits to the north-west.
STF 1149: This yellow and white pair sit wide apart at 21, the primary is 7.5, the secondary at 9. Best seen at 63X where the surrounding stars fill the FOV with a river of faint stars running to the west.
STF 1182: White again. Close at 4.5 sep., the 7th mag. primary is a brilliant blue white star. The carbon star SAO 116340 is said to be in the field, but I failed to spot it.

The doubles of Canis Minor cannot be said to be brilliant or dazzling, there are no fine colour contrasts, just yellows and whites.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.
