Chi Cygni Brightening again was created by Keith g
Hi all, May I draw you attention to the mira star Chi Cygni, which is now currently shining at a very red magnitude 4.5, it can vary in brightness between mag, 14 and 4, I only observed it about 2 weeks ago and it was magnitude 7.2, it seems it is brightening very fast, who knows, it might reach over magnitude 4.0, it often does'nt, so it's worth keeping an eye on.

I had a look tonight in between the clouds and it has definitely returned alright.
This is a rough animation of its last appearance in late july 2006.

That's a good animation there Michael, maybe it will get more people interested in variable star observing? Still, I wonder how bright it will get?
