GK PERSEI (NOVA 1901)

Folks, just a bit of news regarding gk persei (nova persei 1901) is currently being reported as visual magnitude 9.5, way above it's normal magnitude of 13.5 or so. It is acting as a dwarf nova, however in previous small outbursts, it was never seen as this bright, one to keep an eye on....

Hi Keith,

I estimated GK Per as magnitude 10.0 last night (22/23 April 2010), the field was easy enough to find not far from Algol.

Also talking of CV's (Cataclysmic Variables) U Gem and SS Cyg are both currently in outburst.
