Nova 2005+39 N CYGNI 2005 was created by albertw

On that note......has anyone observed the nova in Cygnus yet? I have been planning on observing it in the pre-dawn sky but have been clouded out thus far. I have heard unconfirmed reports that it is fading? at mag 9.9. Does anybody know the latest state of this nova?....thanks in advance!

Basic info at: www.aavso.org/publications/alerts/alert313.shtml

Perhaps the variable star observers here can give more of an update.

Cheers,

Ha, typical.
Could Cygnus be any lower in the sky ??
I guess it'll be long gone before I get a chance to see it.

Al, Dave, I got this alert on Saturday, but it's so hard to observe this one bcause of the weather and where cygnus is in the evening at the moment, the latest from last night was that it was magnitude 10.3 or so, so it's not a very bright nova by any means :(

Still, i'll try to get a look if the clouds go away!

Keith..

I suppose its a test of the new rules that have yet to be implemented!

Lets not indulge pot268 into spamming threads by replying to his posts! They'll just become untidy and off-topic.
