i didnt see this unfortunately bit I remember something very similar on BBC a few years ago, discussing the forms life may take on earth, should humans be wiped out by some catastrophe. Squid evolved into primate type creatures. shellfish evolved into giant shelled elephant type creatures. it was a very very good show. if anyone else saw it, do you know the name of it?

I saw it also John, I thought it was interesting, I thought the animals it proposed were definitely different. As for the program itself it could have been compressed into a single episode, it was a little dragged out for me.
