Damian Peaches - DVD guide to Palnetary Imaging was created by Frank Ryan
I've just watched this DVD and I have to say
if you are into imaging in anyway at all it's a must and
if you are mildly interested it's still worth it.
It's been long imagined that Peach has some sort of
'Magic' formula or settings that he uses to get the superb images he gets.
Not so.
Just basic common sense rules and if you stick to them there is no
reason you cant do the same.
(although you will need a current in date passport to get to the
best sites to do this from!)
He go's through all the basics first,
scopes, collimation, cameras, computers, software....
then on to some walk thrus of how to use registax.
There are good informative sections on
seeing, locations for imaging and processing.
Damian has a natural and down to earth way about him and
it comes across well in the DVD.
The one thing I got from it is that 90% of the work in
getting a good image is done before clicking record on the camera.

Hi,
Maybe this is a stupid question. How to you play this DVD in your computer?

Hi John,
You should have DVD playing software on your PC. Simply pop the DVD into the drive and the player should start automatically.
How old is the PC?
Michael.

My PC is three years old. I have autorun turned off and can find no obvious start file.

If you look at the DVD using Windows explorer do you see two folders called Audio_TS and Video_ts?
If you are coming to the SDAS meeting tomorrow bring the DVD along and I can try it in my laptop.
Michael.

It is most unfortunate that very few people realize how true your statement above is?! With good technique one maximizes their chances for good data and which makes processing easy and fun. The sad thing is that many people think that processing is for fixing errors rather than highlighting the data.
