Having observed and promoted the Moon for several years now, this wonderful object eventually has led to an extensive volume concerning its craters.
First observations of herself back in the 80’s through a homemade telescope - 8-inch, later a 13-inch (now with Cork Astronomy) simply ‘blew’ this observer’s eyes wide open, and ever since then, have been a fan.
Craters of the Near Side Moon
’ gives an idea of what was involved over the year-and-a-half it took to put together. The Moon can be a nuisance for us observers and photographers of other celestial objects, I know, but it really needs a greater look-at, as there’s so much to learn from her. Hope it's of interest?
Cheers
