Hi I'm looking at getting a telescope and taking up astronomy as a hobby and i don't no which telescope to get i found mixed reviews on the Skywatcher Skyhawk-1145P Parabolic Newtonian Telescope. some say it's very good and one person said that before he couldn't see the rings of saturn but with this telescope he can. does anyone know if this is true ?
Skywatcher Startravel 80 AZ3 Refractor Telescope. This was the other one i was looking at too but it seems to be more for terrestrial viewing.
If anyone has any comments or experiences with these telescopes i would love some opinions.
Thanks

Welcome to the IFAS boards :scope:
Talk to Carl at Scopes and Space or Stephen at KTEC. They should be able to give you a good recommendation based on your budget and interests

Hi Clodagh,
Great to see another newcomer looking to get into the hobby
The two scopes you mention are very different. Drop us a mail, and we can work out the best scope for your needs and budget, as everyone has differing requirements, and its very important to pick the right scope to get you off on a good footing,
Stephen.
