Can anyone tell me the safest way to remove 6" of dust from my telescope? It's been so long since we have had any weather that has been good enough to drag the scope out that the dust has built up. I am thinking the best method to solve this is either a hair dryer or move to Spain. Any suggestions?

Hi Paul.
Is your scope a refractor, reflector or a Schmidt Cassagrain?
And is the dust 6" wide or 6" thick?
Hopefully it is not the latter!!
You might consider using a blower brush first.
But don't do anything until the rest of us know what your scope is.
Then we can offer better advice.
Kind regards,
Aubrey.

It was just a tongue in cheek comment about the miserable weather and the lack of observing, Aubrey.

Oh! Flip!!!
You had me fooled!
Ha Ha Ha!!
I was so concerned about my ol' buddy, Paul.
Hey! You never know!
We might have some clear nights from Thursday night onwards.
Let's give a special announcement if we do get clear skies on Friday night to head up to the Sugarloaf Car Park.
Temperature might plummet to Minus 2.
All joking aside!!
Clear skies,
Aubrey.
