Astronomy Ireland seem ok on price was created by fguihen
Ive seen a lot of bad reports about astronomy ireland, but they seem competitive on price.
They quoted me a 6" celestron (C6s) Mak for 995 with equatorial mount for 995 euros. andromeda optics is not much cheaper and with shipping is almost on par. greenwich charges more than this when you convert to euros for a starmax 6" Mak.

Where do you guys see the extreemly low prices that make astronomy ireland seem expensive? i really wana know as i cant find them . thanks all.

The C6-S is not a Maksutov-Cassegrain, it's a Schimdt-Cassegrain. €995 seems to more or less a straight conversion from the original UK price of £649 allowing for the slightly different VAT rate so competitive. However, David Hinds has now reduced his price to £549 so worth having further discussions with the AI shop. If they're selling from stock however, they may have bought in at Hinds' original price. This scope is getting good reviews. There is also a C6-SGT computerised version at £899.

As mentioned in previous message, it's a SCT not a Mak.
