We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .

once again thanks to all for contributions, i got to see saturn on friday and was surprised that such a small star would show up as it did in my telescope, rings and all, with the scope im using how many galaxys can i expect to see, if someone could suggest 3 this wud be a good start,i also tried to observe andromeda i could easy find it with the binoculars, but could not locate it with the telescope i used the pegesus sqare to starhop and located it and the several stars that are adjacent to it,but couldnt get a fix on it,also i observed a fairly large star in the west at sunset but it resolved to a color changing blob in the telescope i thought it may be venus, thanks

Hi All,
Im new to astronomy myself and have just joined the forum. I've had a new scope now for about 2 weeks but have spent more time reading about what's what than actually viewing. I spent a few hours last week with binoculars just getting used to the constallations etc, like supergiant I could find areas with binoculars, but not with the telescope.
Must say that software "Stellarium" is excellent for the beginner. Im looking forward to viewing using it this weekend.
Thanks,
Gary
