Yeah...
and there was I thinking it was something scientific....
glad to see you have a sense of humour.
I'm in the SAC.
Nice bunch of people...
I've been into astronomy since childhood but only joined the club last year...
I see you have Cratloe down as your location....
Is that where you're moving to?
I live in Ballycasey....which is 2 min away.....
Cratloe hills have pretty good skies....

Welcome Jay,
As the lads above have said, SAC in Limerick is the nearest club to you, when you get over and have some spare time, why not come along to the club meetings, we try to have observing sessions but the weather does beat us sometimes, we do what we can.
Any Qs, just send me a PM or make a post.

I've been to Ireland at least a dozen times in the past 10 years, for a few weeks at a time and wondered how many nights are clear enough to observe.Guess I'll find out now.
Yes I will be in Cratloe for at least a year, maybe forever.
I'm looking foward meeting other astronomers and observing as much as possible.

Well Jay, as you know, this is a small enough country, and we all bump into each other at some stage. So, lucky for you, you will be 'seeing' more of us!

If you to any one of the star parties, you'll meet most of the people on these boards.

Replied by yanknclare on topic shipping scope
hello again,
The move is comming together slowly, but we are shooting for 1st of june.
I am really nervous about shipping my scope,i've built a box out of med. density fiberboard, and used the original packing foam and lots of bubble wrap. All the extras (focuser, motor drive, tripod, counter weights, etc, etc, etc, etc)are comming seperately(check luggage, mail, carry on).Sometimes i think i should just leave the scope behind and buy a new one in Ireland, and let someone else do the shipping.
Anywho wish me luck!
