first scope second question

Telescope-service under a heading of economy dobs are offering a 250/1200 dob with bk7 primary mirror, crayford focuser for 478 euro which to my innocent eyes seems to be a lot of scope for the money (what am i missing)

Well richie i think Telescope-Service do have very good products for damn near unbeatable prices! I dont think its a hoax or anything!

That is a 10 inch scope after all. The mirror kit alone would cost the same via mail order. I think in reality, it should be more. Once the Revelation series of Dobsonians came on the market over 2 years ago (the 12 inch retailing for £499 delivered UK), competitors have been forced to almost match the Revelation prices. The one you mentioned here richie - does that price include delivery? Can you post a link here?

Looks EXACTLY like a Revelation, just a different colour tube. The Dob mount is identical. That probably means the same low-cost manufacturing source too. Looks legit to me.

Yup! Its a real good deal! 2" Crayford focusser and even a cooling fan!
