I would like to say a big thank you to Carl O' Beirnes of Astronomy Ireland for lending me some of his time to teach me the fundamentals of the alignment procedures required for the Celestron Nexstar.
And also for taking the time out for putting together a solar filter too.
Thanks Carl! I will be out when ever these clouds dissipate...

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Carl gave me a great deal on my CG-5, far cheaper than elsewhere and I also managed to pick up an 18mm ortho that was a steal.
Many thanks to Carl and the staff.

I just wanted to get in line to give Carl a big pat on the back for all the advice and the fantastic deal I got when I purchased my NexStar 8SE and a few more odds and ends. I was very happy leaving the shop with all that I required, peace of mind assured on my purchase and extra money in my back pocket!
Before I left, I noticed it was four hours later and with three mugs of coffee downed and much astronomy talk, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience overall, looking forward to doing additional business with all the guys in the shop again!
Clear skies
