Hello, need help choosing telescope!!

In my oppinion, when it comes to advising people to buy their first telescope, I don't follow the rule that says:"Start with binoculars" but instead: "Buy the largest Dob you can get "(and handle, of course).
Here in Greece, the entry level telescope for the last 2 ys has been the 8" Sky Watcher dobsonian. A very smart dealer offers it for just 299 euros, and has sold at least 120 telescopes the last 2 years.

New comers in astronomy are happy with this telescope, and has been a good motivation for entering astronomy.

Thanks Vagelis, but im pretty sure a Dob is too big for my situation.

About half way down,

Celestron 150/750mm on EQ-3 (338)or on ADM (448)mount(although the images dont seem to have the same scope in it,or its been elongated)Theres about 100 euro in the difference. Are these complete kits? What accessories would you need starting out?

My friend owns this site, are any of these scopes any good compared to the one I had linked previously? i would like to get it off him if i could and he doesnt charge postage either.

Just had a quick look at your friends site and it seems a bit pricey

Im going to order the one from telescope-service,ive seen it reccommended a few times in other posts.

It looks good, and is small and portable. Should i check the prices in irish stores?
