Please help me find a telescope for my 9 year old son

Hi Gang, Hi Dave, I'm popping in again :lol:
I bought one of those lidl scopes last Xmas, they had them on sale the week before Xmas, it was €165 (Euro).
I believe they may repeat the offer yet again, this Xmas. It seems to be a regular offer.

It doesn't look like it includes the carry bag but that's no big deal...

If you want to get this, you'll really need to be in Lidl before it opens. They will disappear quickly. Perhaps you could ring up your local store and see if they know how many they are getting in?

Is it risky though given all the problems mentioned with ones from Lidl? I would dearly like to save the money buying it there would entail. But not if it will be faulty.

Well I called Lidl and local shop number are ex-directory so had to talk to head office and they said they've no idea how many each shop is getting and won't know until Monday morning. I suggested that that, of course, was impossible as inventory\shipping, etc. all had to be sorted beforehand they didn't just magically appear that morning!

No joy.

Would I be better off in CastleIsland shop or Tralee? Any thoughts?
