Well, about 12.30 last night I went up to the back room and managed to maneuver the scope into a position where I could look at the moon through it. Some fine clouds were drifting across the sky and the scope was pointing through a dusty window. The view, nonetheless, took my breath away. Absolutely fantastic.

Now to pray for clearer weather at night.

Welcome along blackpig,
is this the one you have?

If so, it's a fine scope. Some of us here also have various Skywatchers and know you're getting a great little scope.

Yep. That's the one. It's on a mount which will give me arthritis in later life from just taking it out of the box.

I should have saved a bit longer and got one of those as my first scope.

It's a 6" scope?

Think i will bookmark it as my second scope.
