Hi some of these may seem silly but if I dont ask.......
1) Do you have a pc with a real seriel port. If so try it with that one
2) I presume you tried switching the cables ends around. I note you have an lx200 as well as an lxd75. You sure you havent mixed up the cables and or autostars between the two?
3) You sure the power is going to the scope. and to the autostar? What u using to power it. Is the power light on the scope on?
4) Did the PC ever link up to the autstar in the past. If it did exactly what happened when it did.
5) Did you try loading down stargps from www.stargps.ca/ What happened then.
Its very strange because if none of these work and you cant get into safe load then you have most definately blown something. But I cant think how you could have done it.
I hope your scope is OK and you didnt blow that too. Lucky a trip back to the dealer may be all that is required.

I hope this works:
"Simultaneously hold down the "ENTER" and the Scroll Down key, (Hint: Do not confuse with the Down Arrow key) and turn the telescope power on while holding these keys. The handbox displays "FLASH LOAD – READY" to indicate that you may now transfer data to and from the handbox. "

thanks a lot....but my display doesn't work too (no light nothing, only a sound like "tigg"). the safe load doesn't function. I have tried to communicate to the autostar with the program "hyperterminal". I have contact with it but the autostar doesn't show reaction. hmmmm, i think i'll send it to a meade shop....
thanks

You're probably aware of this already but try
www.weasner.com
. It's a dedicated etx assistance site and helped me on a few occassions before I sold my etx 125 last September/October.
