This looks like a typical unprocessed single sub.

FTS files always seem to be dark but the thing is the data is still there. This is because most things you see are just increadubly fait. So faint that even the sky glow from light polution or a half moon will wash them out!!!

You need to take as many subs as you can. Then you just need to stretch the final stacked image to reveal the image details.

Also each sub will contain along with the signal, a good deal of noise. Some of the noise will be totally random and unrepeated in subsequent frames. By taking a nubber of subs and then applying various formulas and algorithms you can remove this noise from the image. Other noise will be recurring as it is generated by the chip itself. and this noise can be subtracted out by dark, bias and flat calibration frames.

As for the different results from different targets, I have found this also and a lot depends on conditions and the position of the objects in the sky at the time. Sometimes you only know what you have got when you finaly get inside an start processessing. Some says its part of the fun :lol:
