Which is the better option does anyone know? Buy a Celestron CG5 mount, and then try to upgrade it with the GoTo addition, or buy a CG5GT outright?

HI Seanie,
Why are you going to put yourself through that trouble for. Why not just get a GOTO Mount Because you can't make a none GOTO Mount GOTO.
CG-5 GT Mount. Cost 590 Euro. it's a very good mount for the price. Plus that price includes delivery. BTW.
Here is a few details on the mount.
Technical Details:
MOTOR DRIVE: DC Servo motors with encoders, both axes
COMPUTER HAND CONTROL: Double line, 16 character Liquid Crystal Display; 19 fiber optic backlit LED buttons
SLEW SPEEDS: 3°/sec
TRACKING RATES: Sidereal, Solar and Lunar
TRACKING MODES: EQ North & EQ South
ALIGNMENT PROCEDURES: AutoAlign, 2-Star Alignment, Quick Align
SOFTWARE PRECISION: 24bit, 0.08 arcsec calculation
COMMUNICATION PORTS: RS-232 communication port on hand control
MOTOR PORTS: Aux Port, Autoguide Ports
DATABASE: 40,000+ objects, 400 user defined programmable objects. Enhanced information on over 200 objects

You can get dual Axis motors. They can make the mount track on both Axis.but it will be still none goto. For around 100euro. But I have never done any imaging with them. so I don't know how well they would make the mount track.
