You need a clear horizon to the south-east, so somewhere on the east coast would be the best bet. I'll be down at the beach somewhere - Islandmagee is just in the way from my house.
Good luck all - the weather may actually play ball this time!

Terrible conditions here in Bray at the moment, not too much chance of a view for me here

Hi,
There are broken clouds here in Limerick at the moment, lets hope its stays like this.
As for the best place to see it, try a helicopter !

If someone with bad weather can get a quick flight to Greece, anywhere in Greece, do so. The eclipse starts in about 4.5 hours.
Best of luck to everyone!
..... we have great weather today and it will remain so for the eclipse. Also, many archaeological grounds are open to the public until 1 AM specifically for the August full moon (annual event) and which of course coincides with this evening's eclipse. As for the best place to see it, try a helicopter !

I just took a peek at a satellite weather map for Europe and a very good portion of the continent is coverered under some serious clouds. I didn't realize things were this bad!
