MY LATEST ATTEMPT was created by Maygrey
Hi all,
Hope You all well,,
After a load of mistakes and mess ups I finally have an image that I reasonably proud of and would love your comments or suggestions for improvement..
farm4.static.flickr.com/3284/3139457374_941152427f_b.jpg
I used a Conon 400d with 300mm Zoom lens at 265mm at iso 800 mounted on Astrotrac TT320 tracking mount
10x3min light 10x2min dark stacked and processed in imagesplus.. I processed a set with, and a set without flats and i fail to see any notable difference.... Should there be?

Kevin, that's a great result with the astrotrac
As regards the flats, these are supposed to keep the field 'uniform', but since I can't see any 'vignetting' on the edges, the lens must br very good : cheer:
Happy Days (nights) !!
Keith..

You got THAT with a Canon and a 300mm lens? Well I'll be damned! That is some stunning photography there Kevin. It is an excellent result. Maybe a tad too many red stars, but something I'm willing to overlook...

Wonderful stuff Kevin. You should be really proud of that. The only thing that could improve would be to take a lot more frames. Try 50 x 3 mins and it will blow your socks right off!
Keep up the good work.
